Lankhorst Sneek bv began its existence as a simple rope and sailmaker’s shop, catering to the needs of local shipping trade, farmers and fishermen.
While the history of the company started as Lankhorst Touwfabrieken modestly in 1803, it has since expanded into a
multi-faceted company of international stature and more than 1100 employees!
Roots
In 1803 a young man, Nicolaas Jurjan Lankhorst, married into a family who owned a small factory manufacturing ropes
and netting and started thereby "Lankhorst Touwfabrieken".
In 1965 Captain Gramaxo started his own company which later became Grupo Euronete SGPS SA.
In 1998 the two families joined and merged the companies into the Lankhorst Euronete Group.
In 2003, on the occasion of the bicentennial anniversary, Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands granted the
company by Royal Warrant the predicate "Royal".
